The Alarm: the greatest Welsh rock band ever?
Decide for yourself.... see them 'in concert' from the comfort of your own PC!

BBC Radio Wales Evening show is set, once again, to broadcast a unique Alarm live concert. The concert features the current Alarm line up performing a full two hour set recorded on the band's recent Guerilla Tactics In The UK tour. The concert was recorded by BBC Radio Wales Evening show on 20th November at The Point, Cardiff Bay.

In a revolutionary cross genre development the concert was filmed by members of the Radio production team assisted by the Factual Department, highlights of the gig will be streamed on the evening of the radio transmission thus allowing Alarm fans the world over to view the concert from the comfort of their home PC's! To watch the gig yourself click on www.bbc.co.uk/radiowales and follow the links “This was the third of three nights in Cardiff”, says singer Mike Peters, “The atmosphere was like a pressure cooker and the BBC team have captured the interaction between The Alarm and it's audience that is at the core of everything we do as a band. It's as up close and personal as you could wish for and a great opportunity for our worldwide fan base to see The Alarm in the homelands!!!!”.

BBC Producer Darren Broome commented, 'The Alarm are on top form, Mike's a great songwriter and as a band they're criminally under-rated. We on the Evening Show firmly believe The Alarm are one of the best Welsh bands ever! - Check out the footage on the web and listen to the Radio Wales concert for yourself, if you're a fan of classic rock you won't be disappointed.'

The Alarm were formed in Prestatyn in 1981 following the demise of Mike's first band - The Toilets. Currently The Alarm features a stellar line up of punks and gothic rockers including Cult/Mission/Sisters Of Mercy bassist Craig Adams, Steve Grantley (Stiff Little Fingers) and Generation X guitarist James Stevenson. The band's new album Guerilla Tactics was recorded at Bethel Chapel Studios, Wales by Martin Wilding and mixed by Gilby Clarke (Guns 'N Roses) at Red Rum Recording, Los Angeles. Many of the tracks feature frank and somewhat confessional lyrics written by Mike during his ongoing fight against cancer. Amongst the highlights of the set are 68 Guns, Blaze of Glory, Alarm Calling, Spirit of 76, the band's first single, Unsafe Building and the latest Alarm song that Mike Peters sang at 18,500' on Mt. Everest - 'Love Hope and Strength'

The concert will be up on i-player of course for a week after 31st…. So double helpings for those who want it!

Enjoy!
