Hi All just wanted to say a big thank you to Katrina Jaqui, Chrissy Mark, Mike jules peter and dot for such a fantastic day down in south wales the walk was awsome the views spectacular the songs sounded wiked! cant stop listening to Permanence in Change or Presence of love non stop since satuarday strenght and father to son all sounded awsome new south wales ! on and on. The concert in the night was magnificant too. Really seriously thinking of doing Snowdon next year but gonna buy a proper pair of walking boots and not trainers for the walk this time ! my feet have blisters all over them! But the pain was worth it! Thanks mike for having a photo taken with me and Rhys my little boy it meant the world! So much Love Hope and Strength to you all Chris and Claire and now Rhys Puxleyxxxxx Peter Hope your better soon Grandad!!! (p.s thanks to peter and dot for keeping claire and rhys company when i was up the mountain too rhys loved playing with dylan and evan!!)
Luckily the walk wasn't to Craig-y-Llyn (as had been originally announced a few months ago) as that appeared to be > 12miles return and not sure I've ever walked that far in a day! Didn't have any problems wearing trainers (despite walking about another 4miles around Aberdare etc afterwards before evening gig) - seemed fairly gentle walk up there with the route back down needing a bit more care in places to avoid slipping. I found the first Snowdon Rocks much tougher (despite walking boots and a bit fitter then) - both difficulty in having enough muscle strength and breathing enough on the last rather steep bit at the top and didn't seem the only one!
Here's what those who didn't make it up there missed, from Mike (carrying his guitar up there) and Chris Summerhill who joined him for several songs. A good amount from 'Change', not often played at Alarm gigs, but a great choice, fitting for this occasion:
At start, in front of Tenovus : Walk Forever By My Side
Halfway-up: Bells Of Rhymney (With Chris) Pay Me My Money Down (Chris Solo) Bound For Glory (With Chris)
At Top 'Stage': No Frontiers Permanence In Change Elders And Folklore Father To Son Presence Of Love A New South Wales Knockin On Heavens Door (With Chris) Hit The Road Jack (With Chris) Love,Hope & Strength (With Chris)
