Glad you had a good trip Matt. Maybe these next few shows will have them on in the same order? Here's hoping. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I've Fought for what I Believe in on the Punk Rock Barricades"

The way I've heard it, the Psych Furs management are "protecting" their band by having The Alarm play as far away from them as possible! Since The Alarm pretty-much tear the place down where-ever they play. All the bands are getting along well though, and Mike tells me that he likes the "under dog" status (when has he not been one?).
It sounds like the band are doing their job on this tour!!

Even though the bands are from the same era, The Alarm were always known as a legendary "live" band. Even with the new members, Mike Peters has kept up the level on intensity, and in some cases, increased it. As well, as many bands age they tend to create slower more introspective songs. Mike Peters has already been through that period and realized his favorite music came from the late 70's, notthe 80's. He's managed to up the tempo and still deliver quality music.
I've seen the Furs on their own, and they are a really great band, but I never thought the pairing of The Alarm and the Furs would work.

I dont think that's true at all about the Psychedelic Furs keeping them away. In fact, the story I've heard is that the Fixx was already locked into the middle slot and it was the Furs who invited the ALARM to join the tour as well.

I'm confused. If The Fixx were "locked into the middle slot" why were The Alarm the second band to go on in Buffalo? I was under the impression that the Furs were the headliners and that The Alarm and The Fixx would switch spots. Seeing as I'm going to be cutting it close on getting to Point Pleasant Beach, I hope The Fixx lead things off on Monday. Tim

I think it was just a one off for Buffalo. From what I've been told it's back to the same order tonight. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I've Fought for what I Believe in on the Punk Rock Barricades"

I went to the show tonight in Pt. Pleasant. The Alarm opened, and only got to play about 40 minutes. The Furs were second, apparently because the wife of one of the band members was scheduled for a C-section. They played about an hour & 10 minutes. The Fixx closed and played for an hour. The Alarm set was way too short, and the Fixx set was way too long. I'm a big Furs fan, but I've become a bigger Alarm fan. I was disappointed because when they toured two years ago here in New Jersey, the Alarm got to give a full set. Ther Alarm were great, but the set was way too short. Next time, leave the Fixx at home.
