We are all thinking of you Jules. It would not be half as much fun being a Alarm / Mike Peters / LHS Fan without you around to speak and laugh with. You are the Voice of Reason to all Us Screwballs and we appreciate and Love You for it.

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all your messages of support for Jules. I have just got back from the hospital and can tell you that Jules has finally been diagnosed as suffering from Deep Vein Thrombosis. Jules condition deteriorated yesterday and so a second scan was carried out and finally revealed a rather large blood clot around the stomach. The clot is quite high up also and if it had gone undetected would have been very dangerous. However, now we know what we are dealing with it is very controllable, especially with the right treatment. Jules will be in hospital for a while yet until the situation arrests itself and then she will come home but be on the Warfarin drug for the next six months. Warfarin is a drug that thins the blood allowing Jules' own immune system to repair the damaged veins and break down the clot. Jules is always going to have to take precautions if she has to undertake any lengthy travel in the future. The causes are not quite clear but the flight back from Kilimanjaro possibly exposed the weakness in Jules bloodstream, but it could have happened at anytime, "an accident waiting to happen" as the Doctor described it. Jules has been very lucky and is now stable and in safe hands. It was a very worrying time, especially as it took some time to find out the causes of Jules discomfort, especially when DVT was ruled out after the first scan. We've still got to come to terms with what has happened and how it will affect us as a family in the future but for now we are just glad that Jules is out of danger and can get on with the process of becoming well again. Once again, thanks for all your support... Will keep you posted as and when.... Love hope strength, MIke
