Hi all!

I just wanted to check in and let you know we're having great weather here in Llandudno this year. It's nice to be out of the snow in Boston and things got started nicely with alot of the usual suspects flying in from the states Thursday night. John Trigg & Kelly Creek & I drove in together - Lily & Terry & Tim from NYC made it in from London ok. Doug & Bill from NYC just arrived this morning with another group ready to rock'n'roll and Helen from California checked in with us this morning, too. Mark from Detroit, Dave from Seattle & some Norwegian friends also joined us at THE GRAND.

It's going to be great to hear Dave again on Saturday night and I'm having trouble picking questions to ask Mike during his 50 MINUTES interview! But I'm sure I can come up with something - with a little help from my friends on TEAM AMERICA...F*** YEAH!!! ;-)

I haven't talked long with Katrina &Jackie yet but we're expecting 2 of our former PERU ROCKS 'SEXY WOMEN' trekking group to be here this year - TRACY and TONE (also from Norway) - so there'll be lots of loud laughing at dinner tonight and into the early hours after the gig, too!

Hope to get access to Kelly's laptop later tonight to send some updates in the morning before the Quiz/interview but will let you know right now the spelling will be horrible and I won't be responsible for the content as I will most likely be 'typing under the influence'!!

Best Thursday night story so far:

We almost got into a fight with the Mid-Week Break pensioners stating at THE GRAND during dinner when some of us were greeting each other at the table when a gruf geezer yelled at us for spilling his soup when he tried to get around us to his table. He was furious but even the people he spilled his soup on weren't as upset about it as he was!

I say, it was a look at us in another few years complaining about those young uns with their karaoke playing til all hours!!!!

But we were still happy to know we'll have the hotel to ourselves for the rest of the weekend! And we can play our ALARM soundtrack thru the hotels system 24/7 and no one will complain about how loud it is!!

Waiting for the fun to start tonight - can't wait to see all the new merch and the LHS info about the 2009 events!! I'm still hoping for something in LAS VEGAS (or anywhere in the states, actually) to keep the fundraising going like we did for PERU ROCKS in 2008!

This is/was my third event and so far I've never had the honour to stay at the Grand. Problem is that when you're booking for the family (they get dragged to Wales every year) it's not easy to get into the Grand but never mind.

This year's event was great with some exciting news about Mike's new side project (R.I.P. Dead Men Walking - Long Live the "Forgotten Saints").

It was great to catch up with a few friends from past events though I did miss a few faces from the previous 2 years.

The set was great however I am new to the solo stuff from the Breathe album/era. In fact I was completely unaware that Jules Jones was previously in the band.

As usual a big thanks to Mike and of course the rest of the band (Craig and James and Stevie are amazing), everyone at MPO and to Jules for letting Mike perform for us when he's been unwell recently (though I doubt she'd be able to stop him)!!! ;-)

I'm not one for sitting down so the chair configuration on Friday night was a bit disapointing but that's not a big deal. Other than that a really good event. This year I braved it and brought my camera and got somefailry reasonable images so I'll probably do a little slideshow on youtube or something.

Looking forward to more events in 2009 and to the Gathering 2010.....
