I hope all is well. I have a question about my favorite Alarm song that I completely relate to and listen to daily. Did you write The Drunk and the Disorderly about Stuart Adamson or is there a bit of personal experience in there also.

I didn't write the song about Stuart but I can't help but think about him whenever I sing the lyrics. I suppose the influence has come from hanging out with a lot of my contemporaries that have developed and dealt with drink related problems... a lot of my rock and roll mates are in AA... and I learnt bits of the twelve step process from them... I am powerless.... there is a greater power.... etc. etc.
Glad you like the song so much!! It's been re-cut for '21' with the piano intro restored and is the best studio version of the song by far! I also cut a video for the tune in NYC which is on the DVD... will drop in a preview sometime soon..
