Hi Mike
Looking forward to the new releases especially '21'. A couple of questions if I could.
You spent the 90's solo and 00's as the Alarm and these releases plus I assume Rise Expanded Edition next year you seem to be drawing a line under these areas of you career. What are you plans for 2011 onwards Solo or Alarm ?
Are you also planning any new music for next year ? . Any chance of playing 'This is Life Get Used to it' at JB's in December.
Thanks Keith

The Blue Barron Wrote" Is it true that you prefer less contact with fans now than in the period leading up to 2001? As doug answered not only that how can you say Mike preferrs less contact with fans when he comes up with the 21 days idea and personally opens up to us over the internet and answers our questions not only that answers them in a personal way directing answers to us individually using our names as though hes known as as friends for years! Less contact indeed no matter what mike does theres always someone who will find negativity in it on here always been the case!

Hi Mike good morning to you on day two of 21 days im just sat here watching chugginton and Bob the builder with rhys ! Sad hey. As you know I have been an alarm fan since 1982, I was digging through my alarm memorabellia last night and found the letter you sent us all when the MPO was formed with Unsafe building lyrics on the back of it ! I seem to remember that we were only something like 450 members back then ! Out of interest how many genuine members are we right now? My other question for the day today is Where do you see LHS going now it seems the ideas and possibilities with the fund raising are endless but I think Killimanjaro has been your bravesand best ! wish i could have been there! So what plans for next year anything different or more of the same thing? thanks your friend chris puxley p.s cant belive im gonna be 39 this year. oh my 3rd question im going to be 40 next year and one of my things on my wish list is to have an alarm tatoo! but im scared of needls lol! can you recommed a good design of a poppy i can have small one on the top of my arm! chris

Hi Paul, One of the songs that I draw satisfaction from is 'the Life You Seek Does Not Exist' from ITPF Bond... the most challenging to play live is always the new ones especially for the first time.. Thanks Mike
Hi Steve, thanks for the compliments re: Alarm Box Set. I think the secret (if there is one), to writing a lot of songs is just to keep writing and don't stop and don't allow yourself to get too hung up on a particular song or moment... jut to just keep moving on... Thanks Mike
Blue Baron, not sure who you are, as no name!! So maybe you need to reveal yourself to get the answers you desire.... But anyway ... I think the website looks great and is the way forward in terms of having as much info as possible for people interested in what happens around here... Check out the new 'Feel Free' reissue of you stil 'long' for that period!! And NO I don;t prefer less contact with fans post 2001, the only time I have had to withdraw somewhat was when I was in the first throes of my Leukaemia diagnosis and had to protect myself from viral infection that could be carried unwittingly by other humans. This was the most dangerous part of my illness as I my immune system was compromised. Also, check out the new Gathering DVD with me performing in the midst of the fans.... also ask any fan who was at The Hollywood residency.... Don't mind criticism being a member of The Alarm since 1981 has prepared me for anything!!!! Love Mike 'Red Baron' Peters xxx
Hi David, the most famous person I ever met who said "You're Mike Peters" was the late George Harrison backstage at a Bob Dylan show at the NEC Birmingham in 1989.... I nearly fainted!! Mike
Hi James, I was actually quoting the late great Scot Alex Harvey when I said that at Barrowlands... That was how he broke up a fight at Stoke City Football ground at a Yes concert I went to see in 1975? (Relayer Tour).. The one non Alarm song I love playing live is 'Get Down And Get With It!! Don't ask me why though.... it always makes me feel so happy!
It was The Captain's Idea to play '21st Century Boy', although I started it by suggesting we did "Solid Gold Easy Action".... I think the Damned already new 21st....
My favourite comedian has always been Ben Elton for some reason although I love British Comedy like Only Fools & Horses / Gavin and Stacey...
The biggest challenge is playing to a small crowd... no question... having to perform in the developing world and bring out your guitar in a village of expectant faces is fairly daunting.. but once the guitar is on and singing then you lose yourself in the music and could be anywhere!! I'm a very lucky man to be able to do what I do!!
Steve Grantley as well as being a great drummer, is a very well respected writer and has books out on Slade etc. and a new one coming out very soon on The Who... I think I'd rather stick to the songwriting but If I did I'd like to interview Eric Cantona....
Thanks for the questions James.... Mike

mike.. would you be guest referee at a boxing match for charity for LHS at the gathering, between myself and 'welsh and proud'?..it will only take a couple of minutes at most for me to beat him.. we'll do it proper...a proper ring...2 quid a head in..topless ringcard girls coutesy of the ladies from the hack forum...i hear joe calzaghe has a cousin working up at pontins, so we could have him as m.c. ..it'll be a proper good event. so...referee?..whatta ya say mike ?

Hi Keith,
Not drawing a line under anything!!! Just seems like time for the reissue of those works... perhaps a lot of it got missed at the time and I also know from past experience that once you delve back into the past you pick up on some threads that were never properly explored so who knows.... I actually like the flexibility of being able to perform as The Alarm, Mike Peters, Los Mondo Bongo or as a member of the LHS band on the mountainside... I'm not sure where the future lies but for me it is always determoned by the songs and then I go from there. Although I regard '21' as a 'new' Alarm album for release on November 2nd, There is a new 'new' Alarm album which will be launched at The Gathering in Prestatyn next January!!!
This Is Life [Get Used To IT] sounds like a good call to me!!
Cheers Keith, Mike
Hi Chris,
Good Morning to you too... although I'm heading off to a circuit training session any minute and then to the studio to record an end of year interview with J.J. so won't be back online until later this evening after I've taken Dylan to soccer practice!!!
Not sure how many fans we now have as there are so many of you scattered across the internet on myspace/ facebook / ilike / alarm.com etc. etc. it's hard to keep track of everyone... but more now than ever before is the answer... In fact, Peter Jones said he had the first fan in an age on the phone in the MPO Ofiice yesterday, who didn't have a computer and wasn't aware of the Alarm on the internet .... he'd seen a poster for one of the upcoming shows and called the number 01745 571571
The future for LHS lies in the bone marow drives we have been conducting in the USA... this summer we found 15 matches to help save a persons life... amazing!! I'm in Parliament next Tuesday (with some supportibe MP's, Jules, Katrina and Dr. Edwards), working on an initiative to standardise the procedure between Britain and The USA so we can do drives at The Gathering or even Glastonbury!! Here's hoping!!
I'm not sure who is the best tattooist out there but I would go for the classic poppy if I were you... it's timeless!!! Maybe Lily or Greg D. can help also Barney R. has some cool tattoos and was the first person to have an Alarm tattoo as far as I can remember!!
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,Fantastic that you actually spend the time to comunicate with your fans its very much appreciated,i first saw the band backing u2 in glasgow 83 pre war tour and would say that gig would be in my all time top 3 gigs(my fav being skids in dunfermline78),can i ask what your fav gig was that you played with? and your fav that you were in the crowd? also i tip my hat to you for your love shown to the late great Stuart Adamson his work with the skids/big country is 2nd to none for me.How highly did you rate Stuart? Many thanks Mike.Allan SmithHi Allan, I still think the best Alarm gigs ever where one in 1985 at Cal State Fullerton (partly filmed by MTV for the Cutting Edge..) and the other one that was probably the most special was the gig at Manchester Academy in 2006 when I announced news of my remission from Leukaemia. A lot of the show is captured in the Alarmcast Transmission DVD but I have appropriated some of the footage for the '21' DVD to go with the new version of 'Without A Fight'. The best show I've ever seen has to be the Sex Pistols in Quaintways Chester in 1976... followed by any number of Clash gigs between 1977 and 1982 and also Bruce Springsteen on the Born In The USA Tour in Philadelphia 1984. With regard to Stuart Adamson, I think he was one of the best musicians to come from my generation... without him there would have been no Mike Peters or Dave Sharp, Billy Duffy or The Edge or any other number of guitar players for that matter..... Bruce Watson is not to be forgotten here either.... what a great foil and understanding player co-conspirator he was.... It won't be long before Mojo / Classic Rock magazine etc. will resurrect his story and bring the brilliance of Stuart's work with Skids / Big Country alive for a new generation. Cheers, Mike Hi Sylvie, Let's hope we make it to Belgium soon..... in the meantime, the releases are available exclusively at www.thealarm.com and some internet sites like iTunes will carry '21' from November 2nd but won't have the DVD element. Thanks again, Mike

Hi Mike, I’m going for the prize of most questions asked!!!!!!! It’s actually a slant on the question Alan asked, Best gig? Personally I have only ever walked out of one gig and that was U2 on the Joshua Tree tour of 1986 at the SECC, so have you ever been to a gig when you thought, I just can’t take anymore of this and headed for the nearest exit? Take care James

Hi Mike(again) thought day 2 so would hope to have a second question to you!!! I loved that you played with a orchestra over the the States recently and wondered would you consider doing a gig here with a full or large orchestra even if its in aid of LHS as its something i would love to see you do but i was unable to come over to the States to see the recent one!!! I just think to see you or you and the band with a orchestra in aid of LHS is something the fans here would certainly pay to see i know i would!!!! ps-You would have Motorhead or a similar groups fans eating out of your hands with how great you guys are live and also my team are chasing your lot at long last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pps-Love the new video-looking forward to Wrexham etc!!!
