Whilst Man Utd's achievement was indeed incredible, am I not correct in pointing out that Liverpool remain Britain's No 1 club in Europe, having won 5 yes 5 European Cups and even on the domestic front they have won one more English First Division/Premiership title than their oldest foes. Therefore by my reckoning until Man Utd eclipse that tally they really should grow up or shut up.

After having a discussion with a pillock on a levellers site, I was told, after saying Man U only need to win another two European cups to equal Liverpool, that there is no European cup, so its impossible, but that the Mancs have won more Champions League cups than Liverpool.

Looking at Liverpools website, they obviously see things a little different to some of their fans.

And to be fair to Liverpool, yes, they have won 18 league titles, but then again, they don't look as if they will ever add to that number either.

John

Forget about the pillock on the levellers site, by your own admission Man Utd are 2 European Cups/Champions Leagues short of Liverpool's total. Yes the competition is different and incidentally has more to do with T.V rights than football but the simple truth of the matter cannot be denied, Liverpool have been hailed and recognised as the best team in Europe on five different ocassions as opposed to Man Utd's three.

On your other point of seeing no futher league titles heading down Anfield way in the near future, I just say who knows! Ferguson will not be at the helm forever and I'm sure Liverpool will soon wake up to the idea that Benitez has had money to spend and still hasn't delivered, especially on the domestic front. Football is a great imponderable - what happens if Ronaldo leaves Man Utd, Gerrard leaves Liverpool, Drogba leaves Chelsea - how are these players to be replaced - the answer is, I'm sure through time they will be.

I must admit that I loathe fans who gloat like the Red Devil. Enjoy the fact that you won but that you trash those that you beat is a wretched display.

Personally I would say that Liverpool probably have had the best success in Europe if you look at it from a historical point of view. When they played in those finals I actually felt as a Chelsea fan that I could get behind them and support them on the night. But with United I have no pleasure watching them in anything.

On this subject I am saying no more. The season is over and we'll do it all again soon. Euro 2008 next.

You can't enjoy watching Utd? Strange.

Red devil is a wind up merchant!

The goalposts (!) have moved over the years.

Liverpool's recent successes have not been as a result of being champions at home-top 4 qualify so it's not really a champions league, but as someone has said it's a great moneyspinner and you can only play in comps as they are now.

And Giggsy changed the game when he came on Big Grin

Chelsea dropped deeper as a result.

Dearest Ewan,

Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me but you are incorrect, the mickeys have won it 6 times not 5 don't forget 2007 Big Grin

When SAF came to United he said "I'll knock Liverpool off their perch" and if you check the record books since that day he has done just that! And that is what the first photo refers too.

How many years since a title win 18? Wink and counting.

To my sweetest Red Devil

Thanks for pointing that out!

I guess I,m a stupid f*****, playing right into your hands - 1-0 to you, if that's what you get off on. For the record, as this forum evidently makes clear - Man Utd are a worldwide organisation and it is true to say that City are the true Manchester team - they have more fans based in the city of Manchester than Utd - although yes Utd have more fans worldwide. I still say it's 5 -3 Liverpool in terms of being Kings of Europe and despite your childish jokes you know the facts yourself - if you want a wager on it - fine by me.

As regards your remarks re the state of Mike,s health - what kind of human being are you! You sad F*****.

Ewan my dearest friend Wink "I guess I,m a stupid f*****," your words not mine!

And as to your personal comment about me in an open forum go have a look at my reply to the accusation that my post was inappropriate then come back and apologise to me if you are a man!

Can I just remind everyone of a rule of this forum

"Play nice, respect each other, have fun.
If you can not do that, this is not the place for you."

Red Devil this a public warning - play nicely otherwise you'll go in the sin bin for a month and not be able to access the forums.

For a number of years most if not all of your posts have been targetted to wind people up or have a personal dig at someone.
