Good one mate! At least I don't need drugs like Mogodon to remind me of 1967.

you've lost me.what or who is mogodon?nice that you replied.your name is familiar,is that from real radio, cos he's a jambo.anyway i'm a celtic/man utd supporter since the 1970's when i was a wee nipper.my first game was against hibs in 1976 and the week after that i went to see man utd against west ham.i was only 7years old but i can remember it like yesterday and i've been hooked since, though i am a setanta celtic supporter now.i go to see man utd several times a season on the glasgow reds bus.anyway i hope your team do the biz against your cousins in the next few weeks.favourite bands the alarm,r.e.m.,embrace,kevin mcdermott to name but a few.

I,m sorry if my comments were either confusing or just plain shite as you put it. Mogodon is a sedative that is used to send patients to sleep (in a major way - it was given to my late father who died from melanoma). I was pissed off at the gloating of a Celtic supporter who should know and expect his team to thrash a team that are some £50 million in debt with third rate players whilst his club (run by a corrupt ex-politician) are reporting profits of £75 million and can afford to buy far better players than we caould ever imagine. My dig on the 1967 take, is in reference to when Celtic last won the European Cup, something which every single Celtic supporter mentions when riled. It starts to grate 30 years on, just like the mention of 1966 does.

WinkSorry i did not know about mogadon and your late father.just to remind you 1967 was 41 years ago not 30 years ago.you're quite right about our club being run by a corrupt politician.i was dead against him getting the post.anyway i thought the jambos were minted as Romanov owns a bank in Lithuania.(very dodgy and corrupt)Oh,i forgot that he put your club into so much debt by puting the bank as guarantor for your debts.LOL Wink

Alright Jamie, we may differ in our football tastes but at least we have The Alarm in common. I totally agree with you that Romanov has destroyed my club, hence the reason why I like you now no longer regularly attend matches and watch what I can on Setsnta instead. I have a very similar footballing background to yourself. I was born in 1968 and can remember my first Hearts match in 1974 at Tynecastle against Partick Thistle. I think it finished 0 -0. No real improvement since, I hear you say. I really had no choice in supporting Hearts as my father and grandfather were both Hearts supporters and after my two elder brothers had switched allegiance and decided to follow Hibs, I felt I couldn't let the old man down. Anyway enough football, what do you make of the counter attack collective so far and have you heard anything about the album which we still patiently await.

SmilerI think it's a bit patchy too be honest and made rather quickly. However most of the songs are pretty damn good and i think the counter attack album will be a grower after watching the video at the gathering, although there weren't that many fast songs.Well no more football till we beat barca tomorrow night so i'll need to start a new post.

JAM TARTS

PASTRY:

(Use this recipe or your favorite)

8 oz. self rising flour
4 oz. stick butter
Pinch of salt
Approximately 3 tbsp. cold water

Cut in shortening to flour and salt mixture until it resembles fine bread crumbs. Sprinkle with water and mix to form dough. Roll out on a floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into circles to fit jam tart tin and place pastry in tin. Prick bottom and sides of pastry and add 1 teaspoon jam or jelly to each. Top each tart with a cross made from pastry trimmings.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.

In 1980, I spent some time living in Edinburgh, and lived just off Gorgie Road. Got to see Hearts play twice that season, and one of those games was a 0-0 draw against Partick Thistle, if I remember rightly. I don't really follow them, I'm an Everton fan for my sins.. Big Grin

To be honest, I didn't know a thing about his playing career. Thanks for the info. We certainly have a bit of a Preston NE connection, with David Moyes coming from Deepdale to manage Everton, and now Alan Irvine being their manager..
