"Snowdon Rocks!! (The Highest Ranger Pack in England and Wales!)
Photographer Eddie Macdonald is taking his Elinchrom equipment on a very special shoot next weekend to the highest point in England and Wales, Mount Snowdon!
Eddie was the original bass player with the band, The Alarm and along with his musical partner at the time, Mike Peters, wrote such
successful songs as "68 Guns", "Spirit of '76" and "Where Were You Hiding When the Storm Broke?" When the band split in 1991, Eddie
moved into photography and has since worked for a whole host of high profile clients although he still has a huge interest in music and
is part of the Clash tribute band, Westway who recently played at "Strummercamp".
His friend, Mike Peters, is still in music business, performing with "The Alarm" in a new line up. Mike has survived two bouts of
cancer since 1996 and has formed a charity called the LOVE HOPE STRENGTH Foundation to raise awareness and funding for cancer
research globally through a series of events.
Next Saturday, 23rd June, Mike will lead a whole host of doctors, nurses, supporters and fans on a sponsored walk to the summit of Snowdon where he will perform a very special gig at the top!
Eddie will be joining in the walk and photographing the event and his Elinchrom Ranger RX kit will be travelling with him to the top
of Snowdon to photograph Mike's performance. Despite the pack and head being only six kilos, the climb to the summit of the highest
mountain in England and Wales is no easy trek. "I think I may put it on the train for when I get up there" he said yesterday when he
dropped in to TFC.
We at the Flash Centre wish him, Mike and everyone taking part all the best and we'll be thinking of you when we're sat at home enjoying our weekend!!"
